Microsoft offers free Windows 10 upgrade

TORONTO - Jan. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- As part of their Windows 10 marketing campaign, Microsoft has announced that they will soon offer current users free Windows 10 upgrade.

Microsoft has announced that for the first year after Windows 10 launches, any device running Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows Phone 8.1, they will qualify for an upgrade to Microsoft’s latest operating system free of charge.  Microsoft has not released any other details on how the program works however there will be some limitations and subject to some hardware requirements as older machines running Windows 7 may not be powerful enough.

Windows 10 adoption and upgrade will probably be a simple procedure in order to make it easy for to take advantage of this free update to Windows 10.  As part of the larger picture, this is the beginning steps of Microsoft’s launched and implementation of Windows as a service and not just an operating system.   Microsoft is committed to keeping devices updated throughout the supported lifetime for the device.

Windows 10 is expected to carry a longer life cycle as many IT consultants and IT departments are concerned with the short life cycles of operating systems. Microsoft has also made allowances for large corporations allowing these businesses to delay deployment with a pair of alternate timelines and cycles.
