This year marks the 15th anniversary for both Red Nose Day and Best Companies Ltd marking a special milestone for both organisations. Richard Curtis, founder of Comic Relief commented “This is a hugely important Red Nose Day for us, the 15th, and it would be fantastic if you could be involved.” Comic Relief work tirelessly throughout the year, raising money to tackle the root causes of poverty and social injustice in the UK and across the world. All of the money raised through Red Nose Day is spent on grant-making with 40% of the funds raised being spent in the UK. With £950million raised since being founded in 1985, Comic Relief are focused on driving a positive change through the power of entertainment. The #CEOSelfie campaign strongly follows this mission by encouraging CEO’s around the country to have a bit of fun for charity. Working with support from top CEO’s the #CEOSelfie campaign is set to encourage business Chief Executive Officers to take a ‘selfie’ using a camera or smartphone and upload it to a dedicated website www.ceoselfie.co.uk. Participants are then able to donate to Comic Relief and nominate fellow CEO’s to follow their lead. Jonathan Austin, CEO of Best Companies commented “Taking part in this campaign would be a true statement of how you can help to change the face of business, and also celebrates the power of great companies coming together to really make a difference.” Boards of Directors can also get involved in the fun by posting a #BoardSelfie at www.boardSelfie.co.uk, and the rest of your organisation can get involved with a #TeamSelfie at www.teamSelfie.co.uk.
