Follow on Google News | Convicted Felon Turns Troubles In To Book SalesIn Febuary of 2003, Tremayne Johnson was arrested on felony drug charges and sentenced to 5 years felony probation. One of the main stipulations of the probation was to stay out of trouble, but 26 months later, on a fairly warm September evening, Johnson was arrested again. This time, the charge was felony possesion of an illegal firearm. Well aware of the consequences, Johnson prepared himself for the inevitable; a long trip to an upstate New York State correctional facility. On August 1st, 2006, Johnson was sentenced to 2 years. It was during that time he realized he needed to manuver his life in a different direction. “Time is sacred. I knew I couldn’t return home and continue to do the same things I had been doing. I would only get the same results. It was the time away that helped me settle down and reflect on the important things in my life. Like family. I wanted to be home with my family.” says Johnson, who self-published his first book; A Drug Dealer’s Dream in 2008. “I was always a writer. I loved writing music, but once I had that time on my hands, I did a lot of reading. Those books inspired me to create my own story. The rest is history.” In September of 2010 Johnson returned home and published his second novel; King which went on to become an Amazon Bestseller. His work caught the attention of another self-published author and Johnson signed an independent publishing contract with SBR Publications. In May of 2012, Johnson released The Union and debuted at #6 on the Amazon African American Bestsellers List. After being signed for 2 years, and running a subsidiary company for one year, Johnson decided to venture out on his own and King Publishing Group was formed. The company is home to 25 authors and more than 26 titles in circulation, all available on Amazon. A King Publishing group free mobile app for all Android and iOS devices is in the making and Johnson says he’s seeking major paperback distribution for the company. To date; Johnson has sold over 90,000 books. Visit: http://www.kingpublishinggroup.com End
