Our people also appreciate the opportunity to give some of their time and sweat to great causes, which is a great benefit for them personally” said Margi Shaw, President of First Communications. She added that “This program is popular with employees, and we plan on making it a permanent part of our company culture”. Recently, our Akron team participated in other programs and events for several other worthy local charities, including: · Thanksgiving Food Drive – Non-perishable food items were collected by employees at First Communications Akron office and donated to The Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank, a not-for profit organization that helps provide emergency food to neighbors in need. · Make-a-Wish Foundation – Employees recently raised funds by participating in the “Walk for Wishes”, and donating the proceeds to Make-a-Wish Foundation Akron. The funds will be used to grant the wish of children with life threatening medical conditions. · Linus Blanket Project – Employees created comforting handmade blankets intended to provide a sense of love, security, warmth, and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need.
