NEW YORK - Jan. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) has pegged award-wining author and activist Valeisha Butterfield Jones to headline the My Black is Beautiful national tour. Butterfield Jones will bring her passion and commitment to the empowerment of women on college campuses across the nation. As host of the “Girl Talk: Imagine a Future” panel sponsored by Proctor and Gamble, Butterfield Jones will tackle important and timely issues for teen and college-aged girls, including: self-esteem, mentorship, beauty, health education, financial literacy and career development.

Butterfield Jones is the author of the highly-acclaimed book The Girlprint, the ultimate blueprint for girls to propel their dreams into action and currently serves as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network, a global non-profit coalition of celebrities and community leaders committed to the balanced, positive portrayal of women in entertainment and society.

Butterfield Jones formerly served as the National Youth Vote Director for President Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign and as the National Executive Director for entertainment mogul and philanthropist Russell Simmons.
