Auto Body Repair Training

Professionals trained in repairing damage to vehicles from an auto collision, also known as auto body repair technicians, require specialized training. In order to become an auto body repair technician, you must have sufficient knowledge of the automotive industry and an understanding of the technology related to the repair of automobiles. The general duties of a technician include straightening bent auto bodies, removing dents and replacing damaged parts that are beyond repair. Technicians work on all types of vehicles including cars, trucks of all sizes, buses and tractor-trailers.

Often the only requirement to enter the occupation is a high school diploma or GED.. However, on-the-job training and specialized education are also a benefit. Classes from a vocational school or community college that would be beneficial are electronics, physics, chemistry, English, computer and mathematics. Trade and technical schools often award students with a graduate certificate after 6 months to a year's worth of training.  For auto body repair Las Vegas Sudden Impact Auto has highly trained techs. They are highly trained in every aspect of body repair and restoration.  http://www.suddenimpactauto.com

Auto body technicians should possess good reading and math skills including geometry, physics and computer skills. In order for a technician to restore a unibody vehicle to its original form, he or she must be able to follow instructions and diagrams in print form or digitally, then make precise measurements to ensure accurate placement of vehicle body sections relative to one another. Technicians must also pay attention to detail.

Although not mandatory to enter the field, a certificate from the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), has become an expected industry credential. Most repairers require a ASE certificate in order for advancement. Technicians may take up to 4 ASE Master Collision Repair and Refinish Exams to become ASE Master Collision Repair and Refinish Technicians. For those who are unable to pass all four tests, combinations of work experience and passed exams can qualify them for technician status.

It is necessary to retain ASE Certification. Ongoing training is also offered through the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair and can lead you to recognition as a Platinum Technician. The ASE exam must be taken every five years.

Continuing to gain knowledge and training through continuing education classes is necessary for keeping up with industry standards and changes. Items such as automotive parts composition, materials used in body work, electronics and air bags are constantly changing and becoming more complex.

Sudden Impact Auto personnel have been highly trained to provide expert service and work to thier customers. http://www.suddenimpactauto.com
