Auto Mania Tallies Record Numbers During its 2015 Weekend

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Jan. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- If the first event of the year for Carlisle Events is any indication of how the rest of 2015 will go, it’s going to be an exhilarating year in America’s Automotive Hometown.  Event one of 13 is in the books and Auto Mania proved once more to be a great way to start the year for automotive enthusiasts in the mid-Atlantic region.  From Delaware to Connecticut and parts in between, guests flocked to the Ag Hall at the Allentown Fairgrounds to beat the doldrums of the January cold for a good old fashioned automotive swap meet.

By the time the gates opened at noon on Friday, January 17, there was a backlog of guests waiting to enter the complex.  Once they did, however, the fun of the day was non-stop.  From bumper vendors to those selling wheels, fenders, gas pumps, pedal cars, polishing kits and more, there was a little something for everyone indoors at Auto Mania.  In addition to the automobilia available for sale, guests were snagging tools and accessories along with pieces and parts needed for winter at-home projects.

For anyone at the event that thought Friday was busy, they had not seen anything yet.  When the doors opened Saturday, there were lines to gain access to the show for hours.  Once inside, the guests were shoulder to shoulder and aisles were packed with enthusiasts.  Saturday’s turnout, combined with the one from Friday, helped break an all-time gate record for the show in just two days.

Sunday helped wrap the weekend and although it was an active show day, it was hampered a bit by some unsavory weather.  Guests that came had one final shot at deals within the swap meet and a few even eyed up some of the classic cars for sale onsite by vendors.  With the throngs of guests Friday and Saturday, the neighboring Farmers’ Market at the fairgrounds was a popular hot spot too.  What better way to enjoy a day than to spend it with friends talking cars, buying parts and grabbing a bite to eat via some of the best family farmers in the region.
