SGT University welcome 2015 with a grand musical invasion- Symphonious 2015

GURGAON, India - Jan. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- The chilly winds turned warmer at SGT University, where internationally renowned Punjabi folk singer Malkit Singh brought in a sensation with his foot stomping number  “Gud Naal Ishaq Meetha” & “Tootak Tootak Tootiya”. The occasion of SYMPHONIOUS 2015 slated the beginning of a fun filled New Year with crooning music, cultural celebrations and band performances by SGT students.

Welcoming Malkit Singh, University’s VC Dr. T D Dogra stated that co-curricular activities are equally important for all-round development which certainly helps to unfold the hidden talent within students. SGT University has stood at the forefront to pioneer such programs and will continue doing so.

Malkit Singh said that the joy of being with young and enthusiastic live students adds another dimension to the feeling of taking Punjabi vernacular folk to the world.  He appreciated students for their charm in music and encouraged the performers to develop their skills professionally.

The musical skills of students were high in spirits, breaking the mythical illusion that medical students are considered only studious to their core. The extravaganza was a fine fusion of arts and sciences as students from Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Nursing, and Faculty of Dental Sciences played harmoniously with so called western Guitar and Indian Tabla. Students had a fully organized band group fluently mixing music from low tones to high tempo in a way to reach directly to the hearts of the audience. Punjabi Singer- Malkit Singh’s dazzling live performance made everybody dance on Bhangra beats. Students, along with teachers tapped their toes on Punjabi Numbers.

Few of the most admired performances were from Sanpreet “Mere Sung tu Chal Zara”, Imraan “Gulabi Aankhe Jo Teri Dekhi”, Gurgeep “Aaja Nachle” and Harshpreet “Mil Gayi Aaj Aasma Se”. Himesh Reshamiya and Gutthi’s performance by Students was also very appreciated by Everyone.  The event ended with a memorable moment and bliss.
