BOSTON - Jan. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- New England Honda Dealers are proud to announce that Honda has debuted the future of their green vehicle initiative at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, MI. While Honda's hybrid options have been popular choices for New England drivers, the future looks even greener thanks to vehicles like the newly-unveiled FCV Concept.

The FCV Concept is the latest evolution of Honda's fuel cell vehicles, which began with the FCX Clarity. Built to run on hydrogen gas, the FCV Concept has a battery pack that is 33% smaller and has 60% greater energy density than the FCX Clarity, giving the vehicle an estimated driving range of as much as 300 miles on a full tank. And the only byproducts of the FCV Concept are energy to power your car and water vapor.

While the FCV Concept surely stole the show, Honda announced some other new technologies in Detroit, including:

A new battery-electric vehicle like the Honda Fit EV for 2018
A new plug-in hybrid vehicle like the Accord Plug-in also for 2018
Turbocharged four-cylinder engines, set to go into production in late 2015

Critics are predicting that the turbocharged powertrain could even mean that the Honda Civic Type-R will be making its way to the United States, though Honda has yet to announce any specifics.

This is all in addition to Honda's brand new 2016 HR-V compact crossover built on the 2015 Honda Fit platform to deliver a crossover experience with a highly fuel-efficient engine and some state-of-the-art standard and available features. Honda also teased the upcoming 2016 Ridgeline pickup and a redesigned Pilot for the 2016 model year.

To learn more about Honda's latest innovations and the future of the Honda brand, readers have been asked to contact a New England Honda Dealer. With locations all over the New England area, they make it easy for drivers to find state-of-the-art vehicles at affordable prices, and it looks like it's just a matter of time before they start stocking vehicles like the new Honda FCV.
