NEW YORK - Jan. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- SEEDS OF AFRICA FOUNDATION RETAINS MOMENTUM COMMUNICATIONS GROUP to BUILD AWARENESS OF EDUCATION & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS IN ETHIOPIA

New York, NY, January 19, 2015 –
The Seeds of Africa Foundation, www.seedsofafrica.org, a New York City-based NGO that provides education and community development programs in Ethiopia, has retained Momentum Communications Group, www.momentum-cg.com, a marketing communications agency specializing in education and nonprofit clients.  Momentum will provide media relations services to increase awareness of the organization’s mission and programs, focusing on its recently launched Dream School Project.

“I founded Seeds of Africa to make a meaningful impact in my community by tackling the root-cause of poverty, lack of education. Our goal is to provide an education that meets the highest international standards and prepare our students to compete with their peers globally. Through our community development program, we work with our students’ families to improve their household income and quality of life, said Atti Worku, Founder and Executive Director, Seeds of Africa. “We are excited to partner with Momentum to shareour mission, successes to date and goals for the future.”

“Seeds of Africa has already made great strides in educating and nurturing young Ethiopian students and their families,” said Jim Miller, President of Momentum Communications Group.  “We are excited to spread the word to the education, business and philanthropic communities about the amazing work Atti and her team are doing.”

Seeds of Africa began as an after-school program in Adama, Ethiopia, where it provides educational and community development programs for local children and their families. Through its two major programs, Seeding Education and Sowing Community, the foundation offers quality education to children free of charge. Through Seeding Education, more than 100 students between Pre-Kindergarten and 2nd grade receive school meals, uniforms, school supplies, access to a computer lab and library and medical support. Sowing Community works with families to increase household income and improve quality of life through adult education and financial literacy courses, entrepreneurship training, English language classes, small business planning, health education services and access to financial credit.

Seeds of Africa kicked off its Dream School capital campaign in October 2014 to support a new school construction project in Adama. During this two-year campaign, Seeds of Africa plans to raise $2.2 million to build the school. With an anticipated groundbreaking in August-September 2015, the new Ethiopian Academy will meet the highest international standards, preparing students to succeed in high school, college and beyond. Expected to open in 2016, it will support 600 students from Pre-K to the 12th grade.
