Orlando Shakespeare Theater Presents 'James and the Giant Peach'

ORLANDO, Fla. - Jan. 16, 2015 - PRLog -- Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF presents its spring Children’s Series offering, James and the Giant Peach, written by David Wood and based on the books by Roald Dahl. The family production will play from March 19 - April 26, 2015 in the Margeson Theater. When young orphan James flees from his two conniving aunts, he launches on a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly he finds himself in the center of a gigantic peach among human-sized insects with equally over-sized personalities. Follow James, the wise Old-Green-Grasshopper, and the pessimistic Earthworm on their wild adventure!

“James and the Giant Peach is a larger-than-life adventure that will enchant audiences of all ages,” said Director of Education Anne Hering. “Since the book was first published in 1961, millions have fallen in love with James and his critter friends. We’re thrilled to introduce a new generation to this beloved story!”

Casting for James and the Giant Peach includes Michael Sheehy (James), Christopher Joel Onken (Grasshopper), Liz Mignacca (Ladybird), Danielle Renee (Spider), Ryan M. Skiles (Earthworm), and Anna Carol (Centipede). The Orlando Shakes production team includes Director Tim Williams, Scenic Designer Robbin Watts, Lighting Designer Colleen Doherty, Costume Designer Mel Barger, and Sound Designer Britt Sandusky.
