PODS® of Houston and the Houston Fire Department collect more than 60,000 toys

Jan. 15, 2015 - PRLog -- For the 2014 Operation Stocking Stuffer toy drive, PODS of Houston (http://www.pods.com/houston.aspx) helped spread the holiday cheer by donating the use of its safe and secure PODS containers.  The nine PODS containers, which were placed throughout the Houston community to serve as collection points, saved the Houston Fire Department thousands of dollars in moving and storage costs.

As a result, more than 60,000 toys were collected, serving a fundraising record of 3,367 families in financial hardship over the holiday season.

“Everyone at PODS of Houston that we have worked with has been so great during this whole process,” said Paul Box with the Houston Fire Department Public Affairs Office. “I just can't put it into words how much it means to not only the Houston Fire Department but to the many children who received a toy this holiday season.”

The toys were later transported to a warehouse, where they were then distributed at the giveaway event to 15,000 children in need.
