Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort Launches Get Started Package for Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month

LAS VEGAS - Jan. 15, 2015 - PRLog -- January is Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month and Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort (LVSSR) is celebrating by launching its Get Started Package designed for first-time skiers and snowboarders. The package includes four days of ski or snowboard equipment rental, four coaching sessions and four days of lift tickets for $199.  The package is available to those who are 13 years of age or older and are first timer skiers or snowboarders. Those who purchase the package receive an unrestricted 2014/15-season season pass and half off a 2015/16-season pass, after the completion of the four-day program. The package and season pass are non-transferable and participation in all four lessons is required.

“At Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort, we are always striving to create a more comfortable and welcoming learning environment for snow sports,” said Kevin Stickelman, LVSSR president and general manager. “The Get Started Package is a great way for first-timers to get on the snow and learn the proper skills to go from beginners to life-long snow sports enthusiasts.”

The Get Started Package is just a small piece of LVSSR’s successful coaching program. LVSSR launched its complimentary coaching program in 2011, which allows guests to “sample” its coaching services. Coaches, stationed on Rabbit Peak, are available to all season pass holders and day ticket holders who are looking for simple tips to extended beginner and intermediate sessions. Since its inception, LVSSR has quadrupled its ski school sales due to the sampling offer. The program was spearheaded by Chris Lange, director of ski school, and Dan Hooper, director of skier/rider services at LVSSR.

Lange, a 22-year ski and snowboard industry veteran, joined the LVSSR team in 2013 after serving as a snowboard instructor/trainer at The Burton Snowboard Academy at Northstar Resort. His extensive experience managing the daily operations, staff and training programs for award-winning resorts laid the foundation for creating a successful coaching program at LVSSR.

“We knew the market in Las Vegas was entirely different from other ski towns. Guests didn’t want to have the constraints of scheduled group lessons,” said Lange. “Through our complimentary coaching services, guests are able to sample our coaching program and get help from our trained staff when it suits their schedules. It has become one of our most successful programs at Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort and led to tremendous growth in our ski school sales.”
