New York Department of Education Welcomes Author, Karen Elise Wormack by Issuing Vendor Number

MANHATTAN, N.Y. - Jan. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- Just in time for Black History Month and beyond, Published Author Karen Elise Wormack, “The Adventures of Prissy and Missy™”, exciting children’s book series, has been granted her New York State Department of Education, Vendor number enabling Wormack to be an invited guest Author, within the New York Public School System.

    Wormack demonstrates love for children and the written word with the publication of her first full color picture book in that genre, The Adventures of Prissy and Missy™, “Sleepwalk Affair”, her freshman effort in a series of not less than fifteen original works of literary excellence, all of which are written in meaningful and exciting poetic verse with glossaries.

     Wormack is also the President of House of the Guilded Scribe, LLC, Independent Book Publishers and Vendor of Record for Baker & Taylor, (HOUG) Global Media and Book Distributors.  House of the Guilded Scribe was honored in December 2014 as a recipient for Best of Mt. Pocono, Pennsylvania Publishing Excellence.

    Karen Elise Wormack describes herself as energetic, polite, professional and often funny.  She is thrilled to have the opportunity to inspire and encourage children from all ages and every walk of life.  She believes in the power of education, learning and growing and has demonstrated such by earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Kean University, Union, New Jersey, and a Masters Degree in Public Administration (an Honors Graduate) from Marywood, University, Scranton, Pennsylvania.  She continued to educate her mind through acceptance into Sanford Brown Institute, Landover, Maryland where she studied and graduated with a Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

     Additionally, Wormack has been a previous invited guest Author to New York Public School 87 (Manhattan, NY) and New York Public School 256 (Brooklyn, NY).  However, with the issuance of her New York  Department of Education Vendor Number, she can now appear unimpeded in any of the five borough Public Schools possessing formal New York Board of Education approval.

     Wormack’s Author visits are inspirational, engaging and memorable.  She opens her forty five to sixty minute program with an original anti-bullying song titled “I Care About You” which she personally wrote.  Wormack teaches this song to the children, and everyone sings it together Acappella. The song has a message of unity, care, happiness, and overcoming fear and frustration through friendship.   After the song, The Adventures of Prissy and Missy, “Sleepwalk Affair” is read using a power point presentation or hand held with the pages turned.  Wormack has the entire story completely memorized. She incorporates various voices to enhance her characters and meaning. Her funniest voice imitates “Dr. Halitosis”.  Q & A, picture taking and Book Signing follows the close of this fantastic program.
