NCS to speak at FCC Small Business & Emerging Technologies Conference

WASHINGTON - Jan. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- The Federal Communications Commission will hold a Small Business & Emerging Technologies Conference and Tech Fair on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm at FCC Headquarters, Commission Meeting Room, 445 12th Street SW, Washington, DC.

William Michael Cunningham, Managing Partner at National Crowdfunding Services, will speak on the first panel, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, titled "Who’s Investing in Minority Tech? Early Stage Investment Strategies."

Moderating the Panel will be Alonzo Llorens, Esq., Gordon & Rees, LLP. Author of MBE’s Guide to Raising Capital.

Other panelists include Tony Thomas, Managing Director, SCI Ventures; John May, Managing Partner, New Vantage Group; Terrence Thompson, Director Public Policy Americas, Credit Suisse; Mark Rockefeller, Founder and CEO, Streetshares, Inc.; Erick Brimen, Chief Financial Officer, OneVest; and Javier Saade, Associate Administrator, Office of Investment and Innovation, Small Business Administration.

The event itself is designed to "focus on innovation by fledgling entrepreneurs in information technology and telecommunications." The FCC "will highlight small businesses, and particularly, minority and women-owned tech start-ups" and will examine "the challenges that tech start-ups face, as well as some specific issues that often preclude technical innovation in the minority business community."

The full-day conference and tech fair will also cover "entity formation and incubation, early stage investment strategies," and will highlight "app designers, software/hardware manufacturers, and internet based business owners."

As Mr. Cunningham stated, "This is a truly innovative, forward looking approach and event, and I am honored to be participating."

The FCC will also host "a “Fast Pitch” Program for the afternoon where tech entrepreneurs will have a unique opportunity to present their ideas/products to – and get feedback from – experts on launching and capitalizing new businesses."
