Campus Advantage Hires New CFO with Deep Experience in Providing Financial Leadership for Growing In

AUSTIN, Texas - Jan. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- Campus Advantage, a leading student housing company, has named Jon Anderson, CPA, as its new chief financial officer. Anderson is a senior financial leader with a history of developing and managing high performing accounting and finance organizations, including Austin’s own NetSpend Holdings .

In his new position, Anderson’s responsibilities include overseeing the finance, accounting, information technology, risk, legal and human resource functions for the company. He also has been charged with raising capital for continued investment in properties, managing the expansion of Campus Advantage’s business into new service offerings and enhancing the finance department’s role in day-to-day management and decision-making of the business.

“Jon will play a key role as our company continues to improve its efficiency and provide seamless service and value to our investors and our residents,” President and CEO Mike Peter said. “His background in providing financial leadership for a changing business will be important to Campus Advantage as we expand our business and adapt to stay ahead of the ever-changing student housing industry.”

Anderson joins Campus Advantage after spending six years as senior vice president and corporate controller at NetSpend, where he led a team of 30 staff who oversaw the day-to-day budgeting, expense management, billing and purchasing needs of the company. He restructured and optimized the firm’s entire accounting organization and added value by engineering automated solutions to deliver clear and concise financial information.

Before NetSpend, Anderson worked as senior manager for KPMG, a global audit, tax and advisory firm, where he worked with high-priority clients such as MCI/WorldCom, Applied Materials, General Dynamics, the Shaw Group and the Broadwing Corporation. He ranked in the top tier of his peers based on his performance and was chosen to be one of KPMG’s national professional audit quality reviewers.

Anderson is a graduate of Montana State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in business with a minor in finance and accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and completed Stanford University’s Emerging CFO Program in 2014.
