ALTRINCHAM, U.K. - Jan. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- The company, which has been developing logistical software for the energy sector since 2003, has created a 5-minute video to highlight how its ‘Stratus Asset & Personnel Handling (http://www.stratuslogistics.co.uk/)’ software can help oil and gas companies across the world to better manage the movement of their staff and cargo.

The company, which has clients across Africa, the US and the Caribbean, teamed up with local helicopter services company, Heli Air (http://www.heliair.com/training/), based at the City Airport and Heliport (http://cityairportandheliport.com/airport-services/filming) near Manchester, in order to shoot the video.

Jim Black, Managing Director of J J Black Consultancy Limited, said: “Heli-Air staff and management were very accommodating and knew exactly what we needed to capture.”

The video will be posted on to the company’s website shortly. It will also be sent to all the company’s clients and a number of other oil and gas companies in various parts of the world, said Mr Black.

“We turned to video as a way of more easily showing our clients and potential clients how this software can work for them - rather than just by giving a demonstration of the system.

“We are delighted with the result and were pleased to have involved local businesses in its production.”

He went on: “We think that the video will be a powerful way of us promoting this asset management software to oil and gas companies around the world. Our existing clients have all given us great feedback from the software but we know that there are many more oil and gas companies out there that have the same challenges and may benefit from a system to better manage the movement of their employees and cargo.”

The Stratus Asset & Personnel Handling system is a cloud-based, multi-module asset management system to help oil and gas companies to streamline staff and cargo movements and manage costs more effectively.

It allows oil and gas companies to monitor staff and resources on an office, camp, country or worldwide basis - online, 24-hours a day - which makes responding to any incident situation quicker and more effective.

The modular system provides solutions for air, land and sea-based operations and can be customised to each company's particular needs.

Note to Editors:

According to the company, the Stratus software can benefit many departments within companies, including:

Travel: Live tracking of vehicles means that travel departments will always know where resources are allocated and how to plan for future needs. Vehicle requests can be easily managed through the online booking system. Scheduling and route planning algorithms can look for efficient ways to increase vehicle utilization. Companies can even track driver performance and confirm passenger arrivals with the mobile app.

Operations: Theoperations department can know at a glance how many seats are available on a flight either helicopter or fixed wing making sure that minimum staffing requirements are always met. Bed availability can be viewed at a glance and a muster list produced in real time. HR tracking lets companies keep up with personnel assignments and staff certifications. The system can produce a range of customizable reports with up-to-the minute data AND the ability to share these reports both with colleagues and external partners or clients.

Finance: The system’s financial dashboard provides real-time financial and KPI reporting which helps companies to stay on budget (for example with transport costs) and operate at maximum efficiency. Email triggers can be set up for financial milestones, such as if a department goes over budget.

Since the logistical needs for air, land, and sea operations are somewhat different, Stratus has created a specialized modular approach for each mode of transport.

Air Operations

Stratus’ mobile app can reduce passenger processing times while accurately capturing and authorizing passenger information.

Real-time tracking of personnel and aircraft allows accurate location of personnel in case of emergencies.

The reporting dashboard provides trip overviews, real-time rosters and reports and customs declarations at the press of a button.

Sea Operations

Stratus offers multiple ways to improve cargo processing times and tracking accuracy.

The software provides integrated tracking of all assets and creates QR code labels for containers.

One time entry for loadout lists and manifests lets companies store and reuse data for faster processing.

Deck plan photo container tagging creates an accurate map and acts as another check for cargo accuracy.

Companies are also able to manage reporting requirements such as CCU sling certificates, waste manifest tracking, and vessel CO2 emission tracking.

Tracking vessel crew rostering and crew compliance means employees can be audit more efficiently.

The system eliminate rental overdue dates and optimally coordinate resources.

Land Operations

Stratus provides up-to-date tracking for land vehicles and also lets companies monitor driver behaviour through location and final destination geo-fencing.

Sophisticated algorithms help teams plan trips for greatest efficiency. Companies can track fuel consumption and monitor checkpoints along the journey to gauge travel time and efficiency.

On the back end, Stratus helps keep fleets at optimal health by tracking service and maintenance records.

The system even allows personnel driving certification and training records to be managed and stored in one convenient location.

Tracks passenger arrival and departure using the mobile app. An optional cargo-tracking module is also available, if companies deal with boxes more than people.
