DELHI, India - Jan. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- 14th january is celebrated as International Day of Persons with disabilities and thanks to Ponty Chadha Foundation, a twist this year saw children with special needs from ‘Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan (MBCN) associate with the ‘Swacch Noida Campaign’ organized by the Foundation. Union Minister Dr. Mahesh Sharma graced the occasion as the chief guest, cheering the children in sending out the following message—“If we can, why not you?”
The MBCN students were joined by a group of students from Genesis Global School, and together they swept along the lanes of Noida Sector 15, Sector 18, and RWA. In all, over 100 students came together to underline cleanliness as central to national progress.

Dr. Sharma, in his applause for the drive said, “On the occasion of World Disabled Day, I extend my best wishes to the Ponty Chadha Foundation and Genesis Global School for the initiative. I also congratulate you for taking forward Mahatma Gandhi's and our Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a clean country. I really appreciate the enthusiasm that these children have shown towards the cleanliness drive. We should move forward with the oath to keep our surrounding clean and the whole world should see that India is a clean country."
Mr. Manpreet Chadha (Monty Chadha), Vice Chairman Wave Group, who was also present at the event, underlined that the event endeavored greater focus for the national ‘Swacch Bharat Campaign’ by making Noida a clean city.  He also stressed that children with special needs are an integral part of the society who do not shy from giving their best to its betterment and upliftment.

Attributing the genesis of MBCN to his late father who envisioned empowering children with special needs towards self-dependence, he said that the event was also an extension of that ideology.

The students, as part of the drive, picked up strewn plastic and garbage from the streets of Noida and disposed them off in public bins. As a memento, the students signed on a pledge wall which was later kept in the Wave Mall to commemorate the occasion.
