Evan Guthrie Law Firm Lends Estate Planning Help For Habitat For Humanity in Summerville, SC

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Jan. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Attorney Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina  participated in helping the Dorchester Habitat For Humanity Wills Clinic on Saturday February 15^th 2014. Similar to the clinic held prior in Myrtle Beach this event was sponsored by The South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division.

Alongside other local attorneys, Attorney Guthrie spent the day providing free estate planning, wills, and advance directives to habitat homeowners. The core of the clinic program is to provide free wills and healthcare power of attorney, and living wills for those present in the habitat program. This program is a traveling clinic, recently stretching throughout regions in South Carolina. Having much experience and knowledge in this particular field,

Attorney Guthrie greatly enjoys being part of the program. Operating to help homeowners avoid potentially negative situations, the program directs its focus at the importance of wills. A homeowner involved in the program who passes away, may create the potential for his/her home being lost if there is no succession in the ownership. Probate would then become very difficult for a habitat homeowner who does not have a will. Educating the participants on such a matter increases their interest in wills, and exposes them to the importance. Attorney Guthrie enjoyed being able to further work with The Habitat for Humanity Wills Clinic, and cannot wait for his next visit.
