Free Lecture to Provide the Latest Information on Pancreatic Cancer

 
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Jan. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- 21st Century Oncology, the nation’s leading provider of integrated cancer care, is pleased to announce a complimentary lecture about pancreatic cancer on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Northern Trust Bank, 8060 College Parkway, Fort Myers, FL 33919. The event is open to the public and a light dinner will be served.

Pancreatic cancer is a deadly disease, affecting an estimated 46,420 people in 2014, according to the American Cancer Society. Of those, more than 39,000 people, or 85 percent of those, will die from the disease.

The lecture, titled “Pancreatic Cancer: Update on Diagnosis and Treatment,” will provide the local community with up-to-date information, practical advice and answers to questions, including nutritional challenges, about pancreatic cancer from leaders in the field.

Presenters at the lecture include: Constantine Mantz, M.D., Board Certified Radiation Oncologist with 21st Century Oncology, Steven Goldin, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.C.S., M.P.H., C.P.H., Board Certified Surgical Oncologist and Fellowship-Trained Advanced Gastrointestinal Surgeon with 21st Century Oncology, Syed Zafar, M.D., Board Certified Medical Oncologist with Florida Cancer Specialists and Valerie Butram, M.S., R.D., C.S.O., L.D.N., Board Certified Specialist Oncology Dietitian with Lee Memorial Health System.
