AUSTIN, Texas - Jan. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Since February of 2014, Nancy has created over (50) "dignity portraits" for end of life patients and their bereaved-to-be families at VNS-NY’s Haven Hospice.

"This is the first time my creative practice – working as a memory artist (that is, a digital artist and a personal historian) - was given a dedicated environment in which to flourish. The cases I’ve worked on produced a wealth of anecdotal evidence, one of which became the basis for a chapter on Dignity Portraiture in Robert Neimeyer's textbook, "Creative Practices in Grief Therapy," scheduled for publication in Spring 2015.

My hope is that in the future I will be able to train art therapists how to do prescriptive photomontage, applying digital art in the service of alleviating anticipated grief and bereavement."
