Pallett Valo expands its Business Law Group with the addition of David Shlagbaum as Senior Counsel

TORONTO - Jan. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Shlagbaum has been working with business owners and their families for more than 30 years, guiding them through the transition and succession planning process, advising on governance models and shareholder arrangements, business acquisitions and sales, and resolving shareholder and partner disputes. Through an engaged facilitative process, he works with his clients to develop transparency and trust and lay the groundwork for policies, governance structures and agreements designed to allow business owners and their families to live their vision and achieve their goals.

Shlagbaum has served as a member of the Advisory Board of Canadian Capital Magazine and  CPA’s National Conference on Business Transitions and is a frequent contributor to Advisor.ca, Advisor's Edge and other publications. He has served as President of the Family Firm Institute’s Ontario Chapter. He has also lectured at Ryerson University’s School of Management and at the Schulich School of Business and has presented at Rotmans School of Business and numerous other business forums.

Shlagbaum was called to the Ontario Bar in 1975 and has a Certificate in Family Business Advising from the internationally recognized Family Firm Institute. He is also a Certified Advisor at the CAFE Certified Advisory Registry and has a Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law.
