Hearing Voices Network Cymru for Helping Out Lives

HAVERFORDWEST, Wales - Jan. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Helping Hand for people suffering from Psychosis and Schizophrenia. Hearing voices Network Cymru is a group which was launched at ‘Mind Cymru’ conference in Llandrindod Wells in 2002. This network is maintained by Hywel Davies providing all the necessary information, understanding and the support to people who suffer from hearing voices and also people who support such suffers.

The hearing of voices which is not audible to others is a very common experience for a human. This is caused by traumatic experiences such as divorce, unemployment, illness or some other incidences. Voice hearing is experienced by almost 10-15% of the population during their lifetime. Out of this one percent is categorised as schizophrenic by the psychiatrists while another one percent is marked as bipolar.

These voice hearers are given support by the Hearing voices network which is spread across 23 countries that includes Australia, Scotland, New Zealand and Denmark. In England, the network has 170 plus groups for spreading out awareness and information about schizophrenia whereas in Wales they have 11 groups. The group spreads out the message that hearing voices not all means that a person is awfully mentally ill.

The Hearing Voices Network Cymru and Its Aims:

Support the sufferers and their family and friends to understand the condition.
Sharing of experiences and methods, with peer support and other groups, to cure and cope with such conditions
Raising the voice against the treatment meted out to the sufferers by the society, considering it a stigma and thereby reducing the ignorance towards it.
Finding and developing non medicals means of treating people to cope with the voices.
Sharing of experiences among the suffering people who take psychiatric treatment and those who don’t.
