VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Jan. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- A former employee at a North Burnaby McDonald's Restaurant along with the fast food chain is being sued in British Columbia Supreme Court relating to the female employee using her position at the restaurant to find and groom young boys for sexual assaults by her and an unnamed male accomplice in the 80's.

An employee, Tracy Lumb worked at the fast food location. She would provide pre-teen boys with free food, merchandise and befriend them. After she groomed them over a period of time, she invited several of the boys to swim at the pool in her apartment building near Lougheed Mall in Burnaby. While there, she gave them beverages which had been mixed with alcohol and then drugged them. Once this was done, she and an un-named male sexually assaulted the boys.

McDonald's Canada is being named in the lawsuit as the victim feels they had spent millions on marketing to children. They went after the children in the advertising and marketing, convincing kids that the restaurants were a safe and friendly place to be. From a very early age (at that time) McDonald's Canada would target children through live events at restaurants by cartoon characters, television ads saturating the screens and other marketing that taught kids they were a safe place to be and invited kids as a main market focus to visit and play at their locations.

The marketing to and targeting kids should have also brought a higher level of responsibility and accountability to ensure that the people trusted to staff these restaurants were not using them to locate and groom children for sexual assaults and other illegal activities. In Canada this falls under a law known as "Vicarious Liability".

The current lawsuit has been dragging along for years in the Canadian Court in Vancouver, British Columbia. The accused and the fast food giant are dragging it out while at the same ime a bigger problem is that the victim is taking on McDonald's Canada and the accused, Tracy Lumb without his own lawyers. He can not afford the lawyers which McDonalds and the accused can. He can not afford any lawyer so he is doing it on his own, determined to hold all parties accountable for the sexual assaults and more importantly, to help prevent others from enduring a lifetime of emotional pain which he has suffered.

As one of the top employers of teens and vulnerable employees, this should serve as a warning to all youth and adults considering McDonald's as a "safe place".

Even for $6000. and an appology, McDonalds does not want to deal with the matter as it involves an appology I assume in my opinion, they just could not give a damned about the welfare of customers.
