Jan. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- Virginia based Print-a-Part3d,(www.printapart3d.com) the leading 3d industrial small parts service bureau, announced today that it is responding to numerous customer requests for specific parts for interior vehicle assembly.  Print-a-Part will offer a full line of model-year specific installation kits which include all screws, clips, and assorted fasteners required for a specific installation task, (i.e. installing a door panel on a 1970 - 1981 Camaro Full Interior Screw Kit, etc.).  Print-a-Part's original focus will be on those vehicles which are restored most often including 1970-2012 American models from Ford, GM and Chrysler.

These task specific kits embody the Print-a-Part Motto "No Geeks or Genius Required", and can easily be rendered (printed) by an inexpensive 3d printer, (such as a Maker-bot, XYZ or Flash-Forge), with no need for computer or other technical expertise.  Gare Henderson, the director of engineering, acknowledged that these kits, and all parts provided by the site, are politically sensitive in that countries, (such as Cuba, Iran, Russia, Syria and North Korea), which are subject to international sanctions on industrial parts (i.e. aircraft and military parts) will be able to flaunt such restrictions by printing the parts locally.  Henderson said "We have not yet been approached by any government agencies, yet Print-a-Part represents the inevitable challenges of technology to industrial sanctions! It won't be long before armies will be outfitted with 3d printed arms, drones, and even munitions".

The introduction of kits, beginning with automotive parts but soon to be followed by aircraft and marine kits, will help the company to meets its goals of spreading the use of 3d printing beyond the technological community into small shops around the world.  Print-a-Part, in keeping with this goal, also offer competitively priced 3d printers fully installed and in plug-and-play packages making it easy for a small shop to join the 3d printing revolution.
