Follow on Google News | PoolFilters.Biz Guides You on How to Troubleshoot Hayward Pool FilterHayward pool filters are known for their top-notch performance. However, they too might not work at some or the other point. But you do not need to worry about it! Here is a guide that can help you troubleshoot your Hayward pool filter.
By: PoolFilters.Biz Check the hose of the pump and the filter and make sure that you tighten all the connections. If the hose is dipping, there might be a possibility of air entering the system. If air enters the system and the filters keep operating, the filters might eventually stop working. The second step is to clean the skimmer basket. Make sure that the skimmer basket is always clean. To clean the basket, open the skimmer lid, pull the basket out and clean the same. Once done, run the filter and check if the filter is working properly or not. A dirty skimmer basket can cause hurdle in the filter's performance. Not many people know that cleaning the impeller is as important as cleaning the skimmer basket. The impeller is located in the tube that is beyond the pump basket. Make sure you switch off the motor before you start cleaning the impeller. Next, open the lid of the pump basket and reach for the impeller. If you find any impurities clogging the impeller, make sure you clean it immediately. Do not forget to the replace the lid once you have cleaned the impeller. Last but not the least, make sure that your Hayward pool filter cartridge is clean. If your filter cartridges will be dirty, the water of the pool will remain dirty. To clean the cartridges, open up the filter and bakwash the cartridges using a garden hose. Once the cartridges dry up, only then reinstall them into the filter. By taking good care of Hayward pool filter parts, you can keep them running them like new for years. If the cartridges do not work efficiently after backwashing you must soak them overnight in a cleaning solution. The cartridges trap dirt of all kinds right from dust, debris, body oil to soap pieces, hair strands and leaves, to name just a few. Backwashing might remove the dirt from the surface of the cartridge but impurities like body oils might remain embedded in the cartridge. A cleaning solution easily removes all such impurities. If the filter still does not clean the water of the pool, you must consider replacing the cartridges.
