Lifelong Fargo Resident Launches Local Home Helpers & Direct Link Franchise

FARGO, N.D. - Jan. 7, 2015 - PRLog -- When Jackie Milbrath left her corporate career last year, she wanted to do something that made a positive impact on her community.  Now she’s making that dream come true by opening a new small business, Home Helpers & Direct Link of Fargo.

Before opening Home Helpers & Direct Link, Milbrath spent 12 years in banking, first as a branch manager and then as a private mortgage banker. She also spent eight years with a national finance company – holding positions in credit, commercial finance and outside sales. Milbrath is a lifelong resident of the Fargo area. She graduated from Fargo South High and attended North Dakota State University before earning her BS in Business Management from the University of Mary.

When Milbrath was considering opening her own business, in-home care seemed like a natural fit because of the experience she had with her own grandparents.

“My grandparents lived in both assisted living and a nursing facility. Although we found a great facility for them and they received loving and personal care from their caregivers, the last years of their lives were not active or comfortable, physically or emotionally. Once they moved out of their home, they quickly lost strength and were no longer able to walk, dress or bathe independently. When they first moved into assisted living, I suggested to my family we should hire a care provider, but we didn’t know how to go about that process. That was just five years ago,” Milbrath said.

“I believe that if my grandparents had the option of in-home care, their final years would’ve been much more active, healthy and happy. With Home Helpers & Direct Link, my goal is to keep people at home,” she added.
