By: IJIS Institute The National Symposium, the only conference that focuses on information sharing for the justice, public safety, and homeland security communities, will cast a spotlight on Helping to Keep Us Safe through Information Sharing & Safeguarding. The keynote speaker will be the Honorable Thomas “Tom” Ridge. Ridge is perhaps best known as the first secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Prior to DHS, he was the twice-elected Governor of Pennsylvania and served four terms in the U.S. House of Representatives. Ridge is also a Vietnam combat veteran. Others slated to present are: Joseph Klimavicz, Chief Information Officer for the U.S. Department of Justice; Samuel Nixon Jr., Chief Information Officer, Commonwealth of Virginia; Lee (Tip) Wight, Vice President, National Fusion Center Association; Steve Ambrosini, executive director of the IJIS Institute, said, “We are pleased that one of our Sustaining Members, Esri, stepped up to be the Platinum Sponsor for the third year in a row.
