By: BIO-key International, Inc.

WALL, N.J. - Jan. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- BIO-key International, Inc. , a leader in fingerprint biometric identification technologies for hospitals, clinics and private medical practices, reported that the company has received initial purchase orders from hospitals in NY, OH, KY and CA, with a combined value of $130,000. These initial contracts will represent over $400,000 in revenue in 2015 as full roll-outs are expected beginning in the first quarter and throughout the year. BIO-key will provide fingerprint authentication solutions to these hospitals and others, to raise the level of security and convenience for healthcare providers as they update patient records and process Electronic Prescription of Controlled Substances (EPCS). BIO-key’s fingerprint authentication solutions support their Meaningful Use roadmaps and meet compliance guidelines from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and respective State Boards of Pharmacy. Fingerprint authentication has become the preferred authentication option in Healthcare for meeting Meaningful Use, EPCS, I-STOP, CPOE and other requirements.

Since entering the healthcare market with George Washington University Hospital in 2006, BIO-key’s established a respected reputation and delivered expertise to hospital IT executives as well as EHR and security framework vendors. By partnering with leading EHR platform providers such as Epic and Allscripts, Single Sign-on provider HealthCast and the world’s top security providers IBM and CA, BIO-key offers our customers stronger options to solve their security, workflow and compliance challenges.

“These hospital deployments are the beginning results of our strategic efforts in the North American Healthcare Market, where we enjoy technology mandates, high barriers to competition, a well-recognized and respected brand, along with many marquee customers and partners. We’re finding that our hospital customer CIO’s face three primary challenges; security, workflow and compliance” stated Mike DePasquale, BIO-key’s Chairman & CEO. “We deliver measurable improvements in each area and are seeing a noticeable increase in healthcare demand, measured in both opportunity solicitations and gross monetary value.”
