Fort Myers Community Concert Association Elects Officers, New Board Members for 2015

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Jan. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- The Fort Myers Community Concert Association has added two new members to its Board of Directors and elected officers for 2015.

New board members are:

●  Lydia Black – Executive Director of the Lee County Alliance for the Arts (Fort Myers).  Lydia earned her Masters degree in non-profit management and her undergraduate degrees in political science and communications.  She is a member of the Rotary Club of Fort Myers, is a Gulfshore Business “40 Under 40” honoree, a 2010 Power Woman from Florida Weekly; and one of Gulfshore Business’ Influential Women.

●  Robert Pease, Sr. – founder of Triple J Management, LLC, and Triple J Trucking of Southwest Florida, now semi-retired.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Nebraska and moved to Fort Myers in 1978.  He also owned and operated Producers Fertilizer Co. until 1996 when he sold it to a national company.  He is a past president of Cypress Lake Country Club and a past commodore of the Royal Palm Yacht Club.

Officers for 2015 are:

●  Mary Lee Mann, President (Alva) – community leader and long-time officer of the Community Concert Association;

●  Kay Holloway, Vice-President (Fort Myers) – retired educator;

●  Kathy Dean, Secretary (Alva)– Bob Dean Supply; and

●  David Hall, Treasurer (East Lee County)– Sanibel-Captiva Bank.

Oher members of the Executive Committee are Attorney John Fassett of Fort Myers, Philanthropist Fran Fenning of Fort Myers, retired printing executive Bob Kaye of Fort Myers, and Dr. David McCormick, former dean of the University of South Florida branch campus in Fort Myers.

Single tickets are now available on a limited basis to individual performances at $45 each for orchestra and mezzanine seats, $35 for lower balcony seats and $25 for upper balcony seats. The five concerts for the 2015 season are:

●          Royal Philharmonic Orchestra  –January 16, 2015.  The Orchestra, based in London, is now in its 65th year of delivering first class performances of a wide range of musical repertoire with artists recruited from throughout the world. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has performed concerts in Spain, Italy, France, Russia, Germany, Japan and China in addition to the United States and has recorded extensively for film and television.

●          Teatro Lirico D’Europa performing LaBohẻme – February 4, 2015.  Puccini’s La Bohẻme, is the immortal tale of tragic young love set among a community of bohemian artists living in Paris in the 1840s. Teatro Lirico D’Europa is the most successful opera touring company in Europe and the U.S. and travels with a full orchestra of 47 to 50 members and a chorus of 40 singers.

●          Russian National Ballet Theatre performing Don Quixote – February 23, 2015.  Don Quixote is the story of a middle-aged country gentleman absorbed with tales of chivalry who sets out to defend virtue and punish those who violate the code of honor. The Russian National Ballet Theatre was founded with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and invigorates the tradition of classical Russian ballet with developments in dance from around the world.

●          Boston Brass– March 12, 2015. From classical arrangements to jazz standards and original brass quintet repertoire, Boston Brass treats audiences to a unique brand of entertainment.  Boston Brass performs more than 100 times each year and has performed in 49 states and 30 countries.  The quintet has been featured on The CBS Early Show, National Public Radio and has recorded several albums.

●          Chamber Orchestra Kremlin – March 23, 2015.  The orchestra, formed in 1991, has earned national and international recognition as one of Russia’s leading ensembles.  The orchestra regularly tours North and South America, Europe and the Far East in addition to performing concerts at its home base in Moscow and recording more than 30 CDs.
