AUGUSTA, Maine - Jan. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- With the arrival of the New Year, professionals involved with indoor air quality (IAQ) and energy efficiency in our nation’s homes and buildings are preparing for the busy schedule of conferences that occur during the first half of 2015.  One of the most anticipated conferences is the Northeast IAQ & Energy Conference taking place on April 15th and 16th in Portland, Maine.

The Maine Indoor Air Quality Council (MIAQC), the host of the annual event, has just announced the keynote presenter for this year’s conference.  Bob Axelrad, Senior Policy Advisor and Indoor airPLUS Program Manager for the Indoor Environments Division of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will be this year’s honored speaker. His keynote presentation, covering many aspects of energy efficiency and indoor air quality, will span events over the past four decades.

“Bob has seen IAQ issues evolve on many fronts while it has remained a largely un-mandated and under-funded area of environmental health,” said Christine G. Crocker, Executive Director of the Maine Indoor Air Quality Council.  “He will share his perspective on the successes, challenges, trends and the most promising and practical near- and mid-term opportunities to advance IAQ in the context of energy efficiency, climate change and sustainability.  We are delighted and thrilled to have his participation and expertise for all of our conference attendees to learn from and incorporate into their daily activities.”

The complete list of presenters for the 2015 Northeast IAQ & Energy Conference is almost complete and will be published shortly.  A partial list of others speakers already on the exciting two-day schedule include David Hales from the Washington State University Extension Energy Program, Derrick Denis from Clark Seif Clark and the 1st Vice President of the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA), and Bob Krell from IAQ Technologies, Inc.
