Impetigo and the Bacteria that Cause the Infection Discussed in New Online Video

PHOENIX - Jan. 4, 2015 - PRLog -- Today, the IAQ Video Network and Cochrane & Associates announced the release of their latest educational video.  Their newest production discusses the skin infection known as impetigo.

Impetigo is a common and highly contagious type of skin infection. It is mainly a concern for young children, but can also impact others.  Both Staphylococcus (staph) and Streptococcus (strep) bacteria can cause the condition.

“If a person has cuts, scratches, insect bites or other breaks in the skin that come in contact with Staphylococcus or Streptococcus they could develop impetigo,” said Paul Cochrane, President of Cochrane and Associates, the company behind the IAQ Video Network.  “One of the best ways to avoid developing the condition is to keep one’s skin clean and avoid direct contact with anyone who has the skin infection. We hope this new video helps to shed some light on ways to avoid getting impetigo.”
