Mindy McIlroy Elected President of the BID of Coral Gables, 2015/2016 Officers Also Elected

MIAMI - Jan. 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Real estate executive Mindy McIlroy, executive vice president of Terranova, has been elected president of the Board of Directors of the Business Improvement District of Coral Gables (BID) whose mission is to promote commercial vitality for Miracle Mile and Downtown Coral Gables.

“Mindy McIlroy’s real estate expertise is a tremendous asset for the BID as it moves forward with the multi-million dollar Miracle Mile and Giralda Streetscape Improvement project recently approved by the City of Coral Gables,” said Marina Foglia, Executive Director of the BID. The conceptual design of the Streetscape Project will provide wider sidewalks, public art displays and open plaza areas along Miracle Mile to create a pedestrian friendly area and encourage more foot traffic.

The other Officers elected to the Board for a one year term were:

·       Barbara Tria, Kerdyk Real Estate - Vice President

·       Gus Fonte, Daisy Tarsi - Secretary/Treasurer

·       Judy Weissel, Property Owner - Member at Large

The Board members also elected were: Denise Erwin, Zeke Gilford, Erica Guzman, Jorge Kuperman, Matt Lahiff,  Carolina Rendeiro, Michael Steffens, Venny Torre, Helena Ulloa and Joe Schlipman (Resident member) and Commissioner Frank Quesada (City of Coral Gables representative).

McIlroy oversees leasing, marketing and new business development for Terranova’s diverse retail portfolio, valued at more than $1 Billion, and has led the company’s strategy through its foray into mixed-use and High Street retail. Her expertise includes a wide range of retail properties, from suburban shopping centers to lifestyle entertainment centers, to urban retail and mixed-use projects.

Active in the community, McIlroy is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), a founding member of the Lincoln Road Property Owners Association, a member of the MIMO Association, which works to preserve the Miami Historic District along the Biscayne Corridor, and a retail advisory board member of the Kelley A. Bergstrom Center for Real Estate Studies at University of Florida's Warrington College of Business.
