Former Television Personality Unleashes Debut Title

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Steve is President and Founder of The Berlack Method, LLC located in Baltimore, Maryland. The company’s personal development workshops are requested for organizational development, workforce readiness, teambuilding, leadership skills, youth development, fatherhood and parenting, conflict resolution and self-awareness. Steve’s signature presentation, “The Tapestry: Exploring our Connections and Responsibilities,” examines the spiritual nature of personal development.

Steve was a host of BET Tonight, a show previously hosted by both Ed Gordon and Tavis Smiley, featuring roundtable discussions with personalities in entertainment and politics, and focused on issues directly impacting the Black community. Celebrities featured on the show during his tenure included Morris Chestnut, Vivica A. Fox and Doug Banks.  Steve was also cast to host The Berlack Project, his own Disney-produced talk show.

National recognition for Steve came through his display of leadership in the STRIVE program, a behavioral modification boot camp and life skills training non-profit, highlighted on 60 Minutes, in Ebony Man, and City Journal.

Steve, a Fulbright scholar and Malik Shabazz Human Rights Institute scholar, holds a Master’s Degree in Teaching from Morgan State University.  His undergraduate degree in History was earned at The City College of New York, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and received the Cromwell Award, which represents the History Department’s highest GPA.

Steve is the visionary and a co-founder of The Fraternal Order of New Templars, Inc. (The New Templars), a non-profit organization dedicated to training male youth in discipline and high moral standards in order to perpetuate strength, honor and sacrifice within families and communities. He has served on the Board of Codman Square Main Street and on the Board of Overseers of the Financial Services Academy/New England College of Finance.
