Samsung Electronics Levant Inaugurates Samsung Academy and Ultrasound Lab at University of Jordan

Practical Experience for University of Jordan Students to Gain Experience

Dec. 31, 2014 - PRLog -- Samsung Electronics Levant, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, inaugurated Samsung Academy and Ultrasound Medical Laboratory at University of Jordan, with the presence of Samsung Electronics Levant President Mr. Bumsuk Hong, and University of Jordan President Professor Ikhlaif Tarawneh.

The Samsung Academy and the Ultrasound Medical Laboratory are the sequel of a continued cooperation between Samsung Electronics and the university, embodying the company's  vision to give students the opportunity to develop their technical skills, and keep pace with the evolving labor market and employment requirements.

Samsung Academy is located at King Abdullah II School for Information Technology with 400 square meters space, and has three sections: the R & D department, Service Center, that offers participants maintenance workshops for non students at the university for the mobile and audio visual devices, in addition to Samsung lounge, an area dedicated for students to study and have a break between lectures.

The Ultrasound laboratory equipped with the latest medical X-Ray machines to provide faculty and students of Medicine at the University of Jordan the practical experience and to serve the needs of the university hospital in case of emergency and overcrowding.

Samsung Electronics Levant President, Mr. Bumsuk Hong affirmed the importance of integrating work between the private and academic sectors to elevate and develop the students' abilities and prepare them for the working world, where graduates from the Academy will become certified technicians and will be able to work at Samsung or its partners in Jordan.

Mr. Bumsuk Hong stressed on the importance of this cooperation with the university, saying: "At Samsung, we believe in our role toward the local communities, and the importance of the integration and working closely to achieve common goals, for the benefit of youth development, by utilizing our innovative products and solutions."

"We build on our successful experience with the University of Jordan and we hope that the centers will be of direct benefit to the Jordanian labor market in the future, through the highly skilled and trained youth in their respective fields", he added.

Samsung opened an IT lab at the Faculty of Information Technology last year, equipped with the latest devices from Samsung to enhance the technical and skills of Jordanian students
