A New Year's Resolution To Touch 365 Hearts

At braGGs Reconstruction Bras, two sisters who carry the BRCA1 breast cancer gene mutation - one a survivor and one a previvor - are on a mission to help at least 365 other breast cancer survivors feel beautiful and comfortable as they step into life beyond this disease. The sisters' 2015 New Year's Resolution is to work with a variety of individuals and organizations to gift their patent-pending reconstruction bras to women who have undergone a mastectomy with breast reconstruction.
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Dec. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- braGGs Reconstruction Bras kicks off 2015 with an extraordinary new effort to help breast cancer survivors and previvors nurture their sense of beauty, comfort and confidence as they step in to life after this disease. Through their “365 Hearts” project, braGGs Reconstruction Bras will be working with individuals, breast cancer organizations and cancer centers, among others, to gift their patent-pending bra solutions to women who have undergone breast reconstruction after a mastectomy. Their goal: to reach at least 365 women – one for each day of 2015 – and ensure they feel comfortable and beautiful getting dressed each day.

“Life after breast cancer is about reinvention. Inevitably some part of your life will change. Our mission, as a company, is to empower women to live life fully after this disease, embracing this change as a stepping stone to live their dreams. We believe strongly that starts by simply feeling comfortable and beautiful getting dressed each morning,” explains Kara Gorski, braGGs Co-Founder and CEO.

Kara and her sister, Kristin Gembala, founded braGGs Reconstruction Bras when after their own double mastectomies and breast reconstruction they discovered they could not fit into the same bras they used to wear. Their patent-pending designs address issues related to filling out the breast apex, providing coverage for reconstructed nipples and appropriate cup sizing, among others. And, their bras are always wire free.

According to Kristin, “Women who have gone through breast cancer, whether as a survivor or a previvor, have endured so much already. They shouldn’t be further tortured by what they put on their bodies. Instead, they should be comforted and inspired to go out and live their lives!”

At braGGs, each note to customers is signed with a red heart, making their goal of touching 365 hearts in 2015 a fitting mission. They will be tracking each heart and sharing those hearts they reach at their online shop - braGGsonline.com.
