Follow on Google News | David Lorms MC'd the Stevens Elementary "Winter Wonderland" ProgramBy: Lorms Insurance Services “The show was just great. Every class, including Pre-K, performed a special musical act. I had a great time introducing the acts and having fun with the kids,” said Lorms. Acts included lots of dancing and singing in both voice and sign language, a break dancer, Ballet Folklorico, and lots of jingle bells! The performers’ families and friends loved every proud minute of it! For his MC duties, Lorms chose to wear a different Holiday hat as he introduced each act. They included a Chimney with Santa, a Snowman, Christmas trees, and of course, Elf and Santa hats. His jokes were seasonal and he enjoyed the occasion to show off his Spanish! “I really like to be involved with Stevens Elementary. Living and working in Oak Forest, I know what a great school Stevens is and think the students are lucky to start their academic lives there. Mrs. Barrientez, their new Principal, is terrific, the teachers go beyond their classrooms to help their students and you just have to love those kids,” Lorms commented. “This show was a fund raiser for the SPARKPark that the school will build. “I have loved using SPARK Parks in other Houston neighborhoods and want to help them raise the $100,000 they need to build their own!” Among his other continued support of Stevens Elementary, Lorms’ business, http://www.LormsInsuranceServices.com, underwrites the incentives for the school’s students with perfect attendan. “I’m involved with this effort because I know how important student attendance is to academic success. Also, schools’ funding is dependent on their attendance numbers. I had perfect attendance (mostly because my father taught at my high school) and I know how hard it can be on a student. Those kids should be acknowledged and rewarded!” David Lorms is an Award Winning Insurance Expert, Best-Selling Author, winner of numerous media awards including the Quilly and the EXPY Awards for his shared industry knowledge. He has been featured in Forbes Magazine and USA Today as well as various other radio talk and news shows. The SPARKPark at Stevens is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) program through the City of Houston that helps public schools improve their community grounds. With SPARKPark and its alliance with Houston ISD, schools have the opportunity to make major improvements to their out-door areas. Vibrant school grounds stimulate economic growth, increase property values, bolster school and community pride, and help curb crime. End
