The chorale, conducted by founder and artistic director Thomas Savoy, will feature guest soprano Diana Yodzis of Charlotte, following her debut in solo recital at Carnegie Hall on January 15th. Works include Hassler, Monteverdi, Vaughan-Williams, Weelkes and Willan. The consort, playing on Renaissance period instruments and directed by Holly Mauer, will offer works by Anthony Holborne and Robert Johnson. Program narration by Griffin will include poetry from the ages. The audience will have the opportunity to meet the artists after the hour-long concert during a Wassailing Party included in the admission price. Additional concerts will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. with chamber music by Catawba River Baroque, and conclude on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. with the Winthrop University World Percussion Ensemble. The Gaudium Musicae series is designed to support exceptional, primarily local musicians by providing an acoustically excellent, intimate venue for performance and to present diverse programming. Single concert tickets are $30 for families, $12 for adults, $8 for students and children 12 years old or under are free.
