By: Omega Communities The Fort Myers project will be the first facility for Omega not built on a church campus. However, according to Mr. Trammell, Omega will partner with a large and dynamic church that impacts the local community. Lawson Group Architects of Sarasota has designed the facility, and construction drawings are nearing completion. The first phase of the project will consist of 135 assisted living and memory care residences in three separate buildings connected by interior corridors. The total square footage for the facility will be over 100,000 square feet. During the construction phase, the project will employ between 150 to 200, with another 125 professionals employed once the facility opens. The total project cost for the facility will be between $25 and $30 million. Omega Communities plans to begin vertical construction in the spring of 2015 and accept residents in the summer of 2016. Omega has already begun development of two facilities in both North Port and Sarasota, Florida. The Springs at South Biscayne in North Port, Florida is a 133-unit, 140-bed assisted living and memory care facility on the campus of The South Biscayne Church. The Fountains of Hope is a 106-unit, 109-bed facility offering luxury assisted living and memory Care residences. The Fountains of Hope is under construction on the Church of Hope campus in Lakewood Ranch.
