Amani Council Receives the Dorothy Jean Award from Bass Public Affairs

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Dec. 23, 2014 - PRLog -- Amani Council was honored for commitment to free enterprise and community service at the annual Bass Public Affairs (BPA) Christmas Celebration by receiving The Dorothy Jean Award.  BPA Partners, Dee-Dee Bass Wilbon and Deana Bass established The Dorothy Jean Award 13 years ago to honor their mother Dorothy Jean Humphrey Bass.

“The first award was given over a decade ago to officially and publicly thank our Mother for her unwavering support in every little scheme and endeavor Deana and I pursued,” said Bass Wilbon.  “The award is now given to officially and publicly thank an individual who like our Mom is supportive in three specific areas.”

Council received the Dorothy Jean award because like the award’s namesake she exhibits what the BPA partners call “dragonfly tendencies.”  She has a commitment to the Bass Public Affairs mission to help BPA clients project a clear voice in the vast marketplace of ideas.  She has a commitment to American ideals and the American free enterprise system: And she has a commitment to community service.

Her commitment to community service is evidenced by her work advocating on behalf of communities in the United States and the Dominican Republic.  Council’s commitment to the free enterprise system is evidenced not only by her work as a business development consultant with BPA, but also by her work with other emerging companies.  Her true gift is advising small business owners on best practices to increase growth.  Caribe Juice, Council Consulting, DropKiks and Girls in Politics are beneficiaries of Council's passion for building capacity and leveraging resources.
