Kal-Ba Publishing acquires Ken La Salle’s series of nonfiction, philosophy-based applicable books

IRVING, Texas - Dec. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Kal-Ba Publishing has acquired Ken La Salle’s series of nonfiction, philosophy-based applicable books pertaining to success, Climbing Maya, ethics, Dynamic Pluralism and fairness, What is Fairness?

Climbing Maya
(release Spring 2015)

Who has not gone through a crisis? Who has not heard one door close just to see another open? What do we strive for and why? Why are some people driven to take care of the world and all its problems and others are content living under a bridge? Those going through lay-offs, career changes, lifestyle adjustments such as having children, health crisis, or coming back from serving overseas and facing employment with handicaps (both emotionally or physically), and persons forced into early retirement will relate to this memoir. Yes, it is true. This is his story…

La Salle’s employment status combined with an innate sense of curiosity, his friend Tim’s self-destructive tendencies and the impending death of his other friend, Megan, ignite his quest to find the root cause, meaning and consequences of success. Through research, analysis and epiphanies from above, he helps us push through all the psychoses and neuroses of why we never reach for the rope, grab it and then let go, or grab, hold on tight, and pull ourselves up.

This is what LaSalle shared with me recently: “In about 1,100 cities in the United States and across the globe, the “Occupy” movement has been connecting with people with a message that
stands against the conventional wisdom of greed. As I’ve been watching these movement, it has occurred to me that these tens of thousands are speaking out with more than just a political or economic voice. At their core, they are talking about values.

“It inspires me to think that this group, and possibly the generation coming into adulthood, is standing up in cities across the globe and, I believe, talking about a new definition of what it means to be of worth, to be successful. I believe the message in Climbing Maya is keyed in to exactly what these folks are talking about because success is not just about money or status; there’s got to be something more.”

Unlike most typical memoirs, this one solves a question of the ages, “What is success?” This is a source of enlightenment. As you read, take notes. As a medium of self-analyzation, it will empower you.

This is a book that will be shared, given, and pondered for lifetimes and beyond.

Dynamic Pluralism (release Fall 2015)

Dynamic Pluralism takes a look back on historical events, some remote and some quite recent, to find an answer and help rediscover ethics for the 21st Century. What are ethics? What does it mean to be ethical? The question has been posed, answered, and reposed through the centuries, but after the Pragmatist movement of the early 20th century the question was deemed all but unanswerable. Yet, there is one, and it's a lot easier than you might think.

We believe Dynamic Pluralism would be a great asset to career development and leadership philosophy and psychology across the board, on every level of society, as well a personal guide to honor and integrity— not necessarily of right and wrong, but of making the highest choice. This a no nonsense approach to the explanation of ethics that thorough research substantiates his philosophies and makes you ponder the reasons why the world is run the way it is.

“My books on philosophy each utilize one similar methodology, one common system in exploring each of the ideas addressed. It is that I take something most people consider a noun and turn it into a verb. I redefine the idea in the context of a relationship for those using that idea. Success, then, becomes less a thing someone has and more a relationship with our lives. Ethics aren’t a list of rules but a relationship with another. The same works in my book on Buddhism and my upcoming book on Fairness. We define ourselves not just in our ideas but in the way we use our ideas.”

Inspired at a young age by Robert Pirsig’s Zen & The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, La Salle studied philosophy at California State University, Fullerton. This slight dichotomy from work as a stage actor and singer quickly infected all of his writing until he left all other passions behind for writing alone. www.kenlasalle.com
