L.A. Wolves FC Continue Winning Ways With 3-2 Win over Del Rey City SC

TORRANCE, Calif. - Dec. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- December 21, 2014 – The L.A. Wolves FC (7-2-1) scored a 3-2 victory over division rival Del Rey City SC (4-0-5) as the two clubs meet Saturday nightat Toyota Sports Complex in Torrance, Ca. The Wolves continued their winning ways and remained undefeated in their lastseven league matches.

The Wolves opened the scoring in the 15’ minute with a goal from Irish Midfielder Jamie Duffy off a nice assist from Wolves Columbian Forward Luis Trujillo who fed an on rushing Duffy who made a run into the box from midfield. Duffy make no mistake as he hammered home the ball past the Del Rey Keeper Jon Nydell giving the Wolves the early 1-0 lead. The Wolves kept the pressure on and scored their second goal on a nice play in the 33’ minute by Wolves Russian Midfielder Damir Baimagambetov, who received a feed from Forward Luis Trujilo in the box and calmly tapped the ball over the head of the onrushing Del Rey Keeper Nydell giving the Wolves the 2-0 lead going into halftime.

The second half was more of a battle for the Wolves as Del Rey City put up a good fight to stay in the game and in the 60’ minute Del Rey got on the board with a goal to tighten the score 2-1 but that would be as close as Del Rey would get as the Wolves iced the game with a third goal from Wolves Forward Andre Turoldo in the 75’ minute giving the Wolves a 3-1 lead which is where the match would end sending the Wolves into the Holiday break in a first place positon in the Western Conference as Santa Monica Sporting FC plays Sunday night.

Yan Skwara President/GM of the L.A Wolves FC. “Tonight’s match was a good match in that the boys did what they had to do to always stay a step ahead of Del Rey as Del Rey was a much improved squad from our last league match with them, so credit to Del Rey. I think our boys need to get some rest going into the holidays and enjoy some family time as they have been working hard playing week in and week out the past four months. The boys look like they need to refuel and get their engines back to full throttle as we get into 2015 and prepare for the playoffs which are not too far off the horizon. This has been a season so far for our club as we are undefeated in our last seven games and we sit in first place at the moment and that says a lot for the efforts from the guys in the field.
