PHOENIX - Dec. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- MORIAH Cooperative Inc. (http://www.moriahus.org) announced that in 2014, volunteers, supporters, and partners initiated a substantial effort in providing guidance and support services for children with special needs and their families in the development of interpersonal communication, relationship development, and exposure to learning.

During the first seven months of 2014, volunteers contributed over 1,200 hours towards MORIAH’s mission while donors continue to fund inclusive social-based programming for children with a variety of communication challenges.  Kori S., a 12 year old with an incredibly kind heart shared:

"The reason I chose to donate my allowance money to MORIAH's camp scholarship program is because I want to make the lives of kids with special needs better and make them feel happy to be who they are."

According the MORIAH’s Executive Director, Brett Bernstein, “it is with heartfelt thanks for the support of our volunteers, partners, and donors that MORIAH programs are now a reality.”  100% of a donor’s contribution will go to children's programming (no salaries or overhead), 100% of a donor’s tax-deductible contribution will be matched up to $25k through a generous matching grant, and 100% transparency to which program a donors funds will be designated for.  MORIAH is lean and efficient and maximizes the use of every dollar our donor’s contribute.

MORIAH serves children to the age of 18 years old, many of whom are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), down syndrome, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, developmental delays, speech & language impairments, attention deficit disorder (ADD), or intellectual disabilities.  It is this population, that MORIAH is providing guidance and support services for children with special needs and their families in the development of interpersonal communication, relationship development, and exposure to learning. These life-enhancing resources and services are provided through the generosity of volunteers, staff, and benefactors, whose focus is on empowering children to maximize their potential.

Tax-deductible donations may be made via MORIAH’s website (http://donate.moriahus.org) or by contacting the office at (480) 779-9011.  Those interested in applying for scholarships can review award requirements (http://www.moriahus.org/us/moriah-scholarships/), past success stories (http://www.moriahus.org/us/direct-impact-moriah-scholarsh...), and an online application (http://www.moriahus.org/us/social-group-scholarship-application-for-special-needs/) on our website.
