Over $3,700 in “HOLiday Cheer” Donations Made by SOLitude Lake Management

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Dec. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Through its corporate volunteering and outreach program, The SOLution, SOLitude Lake Management, an industry leader in lake and pond management, fisheries management and related environmental services for the Eastern United States, donated over $3,700 in games to health stricken children and gift cards, toys, games, accessories, clothes and other necessities to under resourced families throughout the East Coast.

SOLitude's “HOLiday Cheer” program is in its third year.  In addition to partnering with and providing video games to the B-Strong Foundation (www.b-strongfoundation.org), a non-profit organization that provides meals, gift baskets, and encouragement to families with children who have been diagnosed with cancer at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), this year, a donation was also made to the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters (CHKD), in Norfolk, VA.  SOLitude donated over $1000 total to both hospitals in toys and games, which increased $10 for every new social media follower SOLitude received in the month of November.

The “HOLiday Cheer” families adopted this year live in Charlottesville, VA, Raleigh, NC, Lincoln, DE.  These families, which included nine children in total, were selected by SOLitude staff and faculty at local elementary and middle schools based on nominations showing a true need for additional HOLiday Cheer and financial support during a very trying time.  Every employee on the SOLitude team generously purchased multiple items from the children's’ wish lists to include items such as winter coats, warm clothes and shoes, to dolls, sports gear and new games. Each family also received a Target gift card to allow them to purchase additional holiday presents and household items.

“Our 'HOLiday Cheer' program allows us to utilize our company’s core values and to bring joy to those deserving children and families who are suffering both physically and emotionally this holiday season,” said Tracy King, SOLitude's Director of Marketing.  “And,” she continued, “we could not do as much as we do without the ongoing support of our team, vendors, customers and friends.”
