Modular Launch Promises to Maximise Profitability Prospects for the Airspace Market

Commenting at the MAS launch event last week, Managing Director Chris Tonkin said, “Modular construction offers significant benefits to the freeholder, builder or property owner,  particularly within the airspace sector.”

“The commercial value in making better use of existing space is obvious; however, the manufacture of these modules in an offsite environment also has significant advantages.  Where the construction of a traditionally built 3 bedroom house might take around 3 months, we would expect to manufacture a similar build in 3 weeks, with delivery and installation taking just 2 days.  This means less time onsite, less disruption to neighbours, fewer planning objections, and generally less hassle.”

Jayne Cunningham, MAS’s New Product Director added, “There is also a very strong environmental and sustainability case to consider when investigating alternatives to traditional build.  Offsite production allows materials to be precision engineered according to the architect’s design, allowing for very little wastage.  The Kingspan SIPs offer excellent thermal performance, and reduce the need for other expensive renewables, such as solar power.”
