MINEOLA, N.Y. - Dec. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- As it embarks on its 131st year of service to Long Islanders in need, Family & Children’s Association (FCA), one of Long Island’s oldest and largest human service organizations, is proud to welcome two community leaders to its Board of Trustees: Nicholas J. Lizanich and Dorothy Jacobs.

·         Nicholas J. Lizanich of Smithtown is Director of Asset Management for PSE&G and is involved in the oversight of Long Island’s electric transmission and distribution systems.   As a recognized industry leader, Mr. Lizanich brings more than 30 years business experience to his new role as trustee.

·         Dorothy Jacobs of Island Park is a retired social worker and community advocate who has been dedicated to public service in her professional and private life, volunteering with Long Island-based organizations such as LI Traditions, LI Crisis Center and the Gay and Lesbian Switchboard.

According to FCA President/CEO Jeffrey L. Reynolds, Ph.D., “We’re delighted to welcome Mr. Lizanich and Ms. Jacobs to our board and look forward to working with them on behalf of Long Island’s neediest children, seniors and families. Their professional experience combined with their extensive community service activities makes them outstanding additions to the Family & Children’s Association board”

Mr. Lizanich noted, “I’m very pleased by my appointment to the Board of FCA.  When I first learned of the services FCA provides to the residents of Nassau County, I became very interested in working with the organization for the betterment of the community and the well-being of those served by FCA.”  And, Ms. Jacobs concurs:  “FCA has long enjoyed a reputation as a stellar human services agency, meeting the needs of some of our most at-risk citizens of all ages in all communities.  I am honored to serve as a Trustee and hope my contribution to the Board will further the mission in these trying times.”
