CAMBRIDGE, U.K. - Dec. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- ‘Black Flag: A Coding Club Mission (http://www.codingclub.co.uk/index.php)’ by Matt Langley has been shortlisted for the winter 2014/15 collection for The People’s Book Prize.

This latest addition to the Cambridge Coding Club series is an exciting and imaginative novel and the first of its kind to be published by Cambridge University Press. Written to create coding interest and build on knowledge and understanding of coding skills for Key Stage 3 students, Black Flag is no ordinary novel -  it allows readers to interact with the story online by completing a number of coding challenges via the FREE companion website.

Using this unique combination of storytelling and coding, Black Flag encourages avid readers to become coders and engages avid coders in literature.

The People’s Book Prize is a unique literary competition that is judged by the nation and open to all UK publishers. The prize aims to get people reading, encourages community interaction and empowers the public to vote with confidence for the nation’s next bestsellers. The prize is split into four categories; Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring collections.

Matt Langley, author of Black Flag, said; ‘To be acknowledged by something as important as the People's Book Prize is more than just a thrill, it's an honour. I've always believed you judge a person by the company he keeps, and looking at the fellow nominees this is some very good company indeed. But what I love most about this award is it's down to the people to decide. They get to read all of these great books and pick the ones they truly believe are worthy that makes the honour so much greater.’

The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony on 27 May 2015.
