Bay Area Code for Fun Finds Corporate Advocates, Volunteers

Akraya has partnered with Bay Area non-profit Code for Fun, a program dedicated to exposing elementary and middle school-aged children to programming in an interactive way.

SAN FRANCISCO - Dec. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- Code for Fun offers after-school programs and camps (http://www.codeforfun.com/2014summercamps) all over the San Francisco Bay Area. The curriculum introduces students to computer programming concepts that enable them to build their own game and continue updating their work as their skills progress.

Volunteers are always welcome and don’t need a Computer Science degree to apply. This program is perfect for students looking for volunteer work relevant to their industry and for professionals eager to share their expertise without young brilliant minds.

Volunteers can get involved in three ways:
* Become an Instructor
* Build Curricula
* Help Code for Fun Expand

General Commitments/Requirements:
* All volunteers must submit to and pass fingerprinting and TB test to teach on-site
* Attend training (one-time approx. 2 hour commitment)
* Teach, build curricula or expand the program (approx. 1-2 hour commitment per week)

Akraya encourages all of their consultants and employees to get involved with Code for Fun. You can sign up HERE (http://www.codeforfun.com/contact-us) and discover how you can get involved.
