Author Brinn Colenda Takes First Place In New Mexico - Arizona Book Awards For 'Chita Quest'

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Dec. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- Author Brinn Colenda's newest release, 'Chita Quest', has taken the First Place Award in the New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards. The competition, sponsored by the New Mexico-Arizona Book Co-operative, is an annual, judged contest open to authors and books from or about the Southwest.

“I am thrilled to receive this honor," Colenda stated. "Having my work recognized by the largest writer and book organization in the Southwest is a dream come true.”

Thriller books, especially military fiction, are Brinn Colenda's specialty. He is committed to creating international works of fiction that are character-driven with dynamic, well-developed plots. His works are based on real-life people and experiences. 'Chita Quest' brings a sense of realism to his work that is seldom seen in the military thriller genre for good reason – he has been there. Colenda spent 20 plus years traveling the globe as a pilot and a political-military officer.

Colenda’s work has also garnered awards and notice from SouthWest Writers and the Military Writers Society of America. 'Chita Quest' won two silver medals from the Florida Authors and Publishers Association (FAPA) in the action/suspense category.

Colenda recently won a silver medal from the Military Writers Society of America in the thriller category at its annual conference for the first novel in this series, 'Cochabamba Conspiracy', which takes place in and around the city of Cochabamba, Bolivia.
