Connect DFW Returns from California Cruise, Cancun Retreat

Once a year, Rachel, her management team, and a hand-selected group of Connect DFW’s highest achievers travel to Southern California for a leadership conference and boat cruise. While the evenings are filled with learning and networking opportunities with some of the most successful marketers in the country, the day is spent on the Pacific Ocean, touring scenic Newport Harbor to see some of the idyllic estates built by the very professionals from whom they are there to learn.

“It’s both inspiring and humbling at the same time,” explained Rachel. “Intellectually we know these people are successful and have a lot to teach us, but then when you see their houses it really drives home the point that these people are successful. The boat tour is phenomenal as well, with food and drinks provided, making it a slow and relaxing way to take in the scene. I’m grateful for the chance to share this with my team.”

Rachel and her leaders also recently returned from a rest and relaxation retreat in Cancun, Mexico, where they spent a weekend at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. “This has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth,” Rachel said admiringly. “Pristine white sand on the shore of the Caribbean Sea with a breathtaking view, this resort is one of the nicest in Cancun – which is saying quite a lot. It’s the perfect place for us to recharge our batteries for 2015.”

While the conference was focused on rejuvenation, there were still plenty of networking and team-building activities, and most importantly an extravagant ceremony where high-achieving marketing professionals from around the country were recognized for their accomplishments. The team representing Connect DFW earned six awards: four President’s Awards, the Rookie Owner of the Year Award, and also the Comeback Owner of the Year Award. Stated Rachel, “It feels good to be noticed for all the hard work we put into this year, especially in front of esteemed colleagues in a tropical location. I hope everyone on my team gets to experience this someday.”
